Use unique discount codes in emails and newsletters

Import unique codes into your email provider.

Unique discount codes provide each subscriber with a one-time offer that cannot be reused or shared. This guide explains how to use discount sets from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app in Seguno: Email Marketing, as well as in other email providers.

Before you start

  1. Create a discount set in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app.

  2. Verify that the discount set contains enough codes for all recipients.

Use unique discount codes with Seguno Email Marketing

Unique codes can be used in emails and automations in Seguno: Email Marketing. Seguno will send a unique code to each subscriber and track the sales by discount set and individual discount codes.

This feature is built into the Seguno Email Marketing ecosystem and does not require the Bulk Discount Code Bot app to achieve this. Please visit this article if you're using Seguno Email Marketing

Use unique discount codes with other email providers

To send unique discount codes to subscribers through different email providers, export the discount codes to a CSV file.

  1. Open Bulk Discount Code Bot.

  2. Click ... next to the discount set and select Export codes

  3. Once the Export queued badge has been removed, click ... next to the discount set again, and click Download codes.

Export notes

  • Filenames include the discount set name and export request date.

  • Files are formatted as CSV with a single column header for the discount code.

  • Files are stored securely in your Shopify admin.

Reference your email provider's documentation on importing data into a contact field to insert the codes into an email.

Notes and limitations

Shopify Email

Shopify Email does not support inserting unique discount codes. Use Seguno: Email Marketing or another provider that supports custom fields and merge tags.

Code quantity

Ensure your discount set contains more codes than the number of subscribers you plan to send to.
