A discount set in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app is a batch of unique Shopify discount codes that share one set of discount rules. You can generate random codes, provide specific codes, or upload a CSV file.
Use discount sets for personalized promotions, influencer programs, or subscriber rewards in your Shopify store and email campaigns.
Create a discount set
Create a discount set in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app by naming the set, choosing how to add codes, and then setting the discount rules in Shopify.
To create a discount set:
In Shopify, open Bulk Discount Code Bot.
Click Create discount set.
Enter a name for the set.
Choose how to add your codes:
Generate random codes: Enter the number of codes to generate. Optionally, enter a prefix or suffix to identify your codes.
Provide specific codes: Enter your unique codes in the text field, one code per line.
Upload CSV: Upload a CSV file with a single column. Label the column header "Code."
Click Create discount.
Select the discount type:
Amount off products
Buy X, get Y
Amount off order
Free shipping
Complete the Shopify discount form to set the rules for the discount set.
Note: The code field in the Shopify discount form is filled with your discount set name. This name only identifies the discount in Shopify. Your discount set's unique codes are determined by the option you selected in step 4.
Click Save.
Review your settings.
Click Create discount set.
Note:
Do not select the Automatic discount method when you create the discount. Automatic discounts do not support code generation.
After creating a discount set, Seguno will update you on the import progress with a badge located on the dashboard.
View the codes in a discount set
View every code in a discount set from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app.
To view codes in a discount set:
Open Bulk Discount Code Bot.
Click the More actions (...) menu next to the discount set.
Select View discount.
In the Discount code card, click View all codes.
Edit discount code settings
You can update the settings of an existing discount set in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app at any time.
Open Bulk Discount Code Bot.
Locate the discount set you want to edit.
Click the More actions (...) menu.
Select Edit discount.
Update one or more of these settings:
Discount value
Start or end date
Code usage limits
Product or Collection eligibility
Click Save.
Note:
You can't change the discount type or the set name after you create a discount set. To change either one, duplicate the set and apply your new settings.
Add more codes to a discount set
Add generated, provided, or uploaded codes to a discount set you already created in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app.
Note:
Adding codes to an existing discount set is a paid feature. It requires an active subscription to the Bulk Discount Code Bot app.
To add codes to a discount set:
Open Bulk Discount Code Bot.
Click the discount set you want to add codes to.
Select whether to generate, provide, or upload codes. The form fills in your most recent choices automatically.
Edit the code details as needed.
Click Save.
Tip:
Avoid using the same prefix in more than one discount set. Unique prefixes keep your tracking accurate.
Add codes from the Shopify admin
The Bulk Discount Code Bot app adds an Add codes to discount action to the Discounts page in your Shopify admin.
To add codes to a discount from the Shopify admin:
In the Shopify admin, open Discounts.
Select the discount you want to add codes to.
Click More actions.
Select Add codes to discount.
Select Generate random codes or Provide specific codes.
Enter the code details.
Review the Summary section at the bottom of the window.
Click Add codes.
The Summary section shows:
An estimated time to generate the codes
A preview of what the codes will look like
An alert if any codes you provided already exist in your Shopify admin (Provide specific codes only)
An alert if your settings can't produce the number of codes you requested (Generate random codes only)
After you click Add codes, an Import has started message appears. The import runs in the background, so you can close the window.
How many codes you can create
The Bulk Discount Code Bot app has no overall limit on the number of codes you can create. Shopify and the code entry method set these limits:
Each Shopify store has a limit of 20,000,000 discount codes. This includes all codes with an Active, Scheduled, or Expired status.
Generate random codes has no limit on how many codes you can generate at a time.
Upload CSV has no limit on how many codes you can import.
Provide specific codes has a limit of 20,000 codes per import. After an import finishes, you can add more codes in increments of 20,000.
Warning:
Make sure your code length allows enough unique values for the number of codes you request. For example, you can't generate 10,000 unique codes with a code length of one character.
Delete a discount set or its codes
The Delete discount set action removes the discount set from your list in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app. It does not delete the discount or its codes from your Shopify admin, so your codes continue to work, and your reporting remains intact.
To stop the codes from working, delete them in the Shopify admin. You can't delete codes from inside the Bulk Discount Code Bot app.
To delete discount codes in Shopify:
In the Shopify admin, open Discounts.
Select the checkbox next to each discount you want to delete.
Click More actions in the upper-right corner of the table.
Select Delete discounts.
Warning:
Deleted sets cannot be recovered from either. Export any set before deletion if you want to reuse it later.
Export codes from a discount set
You can export a discount set after all of its codes are generated and imported into the Bulk Discount Code Bot app. Export from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app or from the Discounts page in the Shopify admin.
Exporting codes from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app takes two stages. First, prepare the codes for export. Then, download the codes.
To export codes from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app:
Open Bulk Discount Code Bot.
Click ... at the right end of the discount set's row.
Select Export codes. A message shows that the codes are being prepared for export.
Wait for the message to disappear. You also receive an email when the codes are ready to download.
Click ... next to the discount set again. The export option changes to Download codes.
Select Download codes.
The codes download to your computer's Downloads folder. The export is a CSV file with a column header for the code. The file name uses the discount set name and the date you requested the export.
Export codes by batch
Export by batch lets you download only the codes added on a specific date, instead of the entire discount set.
Note: This feature is only available to merchants on the Grow plan for the Bulk Discount Code Bot app.
Batches are organized by the date new codes were added to the set.
A timeline shows when codes were added and who added them.
To export the entire set instead, select Export all codes currently in Shopify.

How many discount codes can I create with the Bulk Discount Code Bot app?
The app has no overall limit. Each Shopify store can hold up to 20,000,000 discount codes, and Provide specific codes allows 20,000 codes per import.
Can I edit a discount set after it's created?
Yes. You can edit the discount value, start or end date, code usage limits, and product or collection eligibility. You can't change the discount type or the set name.
Does deleting a discount set from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app delete its codes?
No. Delete discount set removes the set from the Bulk Discount Code Bot app list only. To stop the codes from working, delete them from the Discounts page in the Shopify admin.
Can I use an automatic discount with a discount set?
No. Automatic discounts do not support code generation. Select a code-based discount type when you create the discount.
