How to connect your Shopify and Canva accounts with Shopify Connect for Canva

Connect your Shopify store and Canva account with Shopify Connect for Canva to use product images in Canva and Canva designs in Shopify.

Shopify Connect for Canva links your Shopify store to your Canva account so product images and designs move between the two platforms.

Use it when you want to bring Shopify content into Canva designs, send Canva designs into Shopify, or both.

The connection works in two independent directions, so you only need to set up the direction that matches your workflow.

Note:

In the Shopify admin, the app is named Canva Connect.

Inside Canva's Design Studio, the matching panel is named Shopify Connect.

Both names refer to Shopify Connect for Canva.

Quick summary

Shopify Connect for Canva syncs Shopify and Canva in two independent directions:

  • Complete Part 1 to search for and use Shopify product images inside Canva designs.

  • Complete Part 2 to edit Shopify product imagery with Canva's design tools.

Each part works on its own. You don't need to set up both.

Part 1: Let Canva access your Shopify information

Complete Part 1 of Shopify Connect for Canva when you want to search for Shopify products, collections, and file images and drag them directly into a Canva design.

  1. In your Shopify admin, open the Canva Connect app.

  2. Copy your unique authorization code.

  3. Sign in to your Canva account, if prompted.

  4. Select Use an existing design or Create new design. Canva Design Studio opens with the Shopify Connect panel.

  7. Enter your authorization code.

  8. Click Connect.

Part 2: Let Shopify access your Canva designs

Complete Part 2 of Shopify Connect for Canva when you want to edit product imagery in Shopify with Canva's design tools.

To let Shopify access your Canva designs:

  1. In your Shopify admin, open the Canva Connect app.

  2. Locate the Connect your Canva account to access your designs inside Shopify section.

  3. Click Authorize account.

  4. Sign in to Canva.
