You can modify details of an existing discount set in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app, including:
Discount value
Applicable products and collections
Active dates
Steps for editing the Shopify discount value
Open the discount set.
In the Discount value section, select the discount type options available for the set.
Update the value (for example, 10%, $5 off, or Free shipping settings).
Click Save.
Warning:
If the Shopify discount has expired or has been deleted, generated codes may stop working.
Steps for editing the applicable products and collections
Note:
This only applies to Amount off products discounts.
Open the discount set
In the Applies to section under Discount value, select Specific collection or Specific products
Search your products or collections by using the Search bar or the Browse button
You can select up to 100 unique products or 100 collections
Deselect/select the products
Click Save
Steps for editing the discount's active dates
Open the discount set.
Select the Start date or End date fields.
Choose a new date and time.
Click Save.
Notes about editing the Shopify discount type
Shopify does not support changing the discount type after the discount has been created. To change the discount type, you will need to create a new discount set.
Workaround:
If you've already distributed or printed your unique discount codes and want to change the discount type:
Export and save the codes from the incorrect discount.
Delete the incorrect discount.
Create a new discount and import the codes to the new set.
Note:
Deletion of the old discount must be complete before reimporting the codes to the new discount set. Discount deletion takes some time and runs in the background of Shopify.
If you encounter an error when reimporting codes, wait a few minutes and then try again.
FAQs
Can I change the discount type after creating a discount set?
No. The discount type cannot be edited. You must create a new discount set if you need a different type.
Why are my codes showing as expired?
The Shopify parent discount has expired. Update the end date to reactivate the discount and all unique codes for that discount.
Can I extend a discount set that has already ended?
Yes. You can update the end date to a future date to extend the discount codes' expiration.
Do changes sync automatically with Shopify?
Yes. All edits in the Bulk Discount Code Bot app sync directly to the associated Shopify discount.
