How send time optimization works
Send Time Optimization analyzes four engagement signals from each subscriber's history to predict the best delivery time:
Last order – when the subscriber most recently made a purchase
Last conversion – when they last placed an order attributed to an email
Last click – when they last clicked a link in an email
Last open – when they last opened an email
Note:
If a contact's most recent activity is newer than 3 months, that signal is used — even if an older, stronger signal exists.
Each subscriber's predicted optimal send time is calculated individually, so delivery is staggered across your audience.
Enabling send time optimization
Send Time Optimization is included with all Seguno Email accounts.
To enable send-time optimization for your newsletter:
Create your newsletter in Seguno Email Marketing.
Proceed to scheduling.
Select the Send Time Optimization option.
The scheduled date and time mark the start of the delivery window. Subscribers who do not have enough engagement history to generate an optimized time will receive the newsletter at this time.
Note:
Automatic remailing for Send Time Optimization deliveries is scheduled relative to each subscriber's initial delivery time. If you choose to remail a newsletter at a later time, using optimized send times for the remail will be optional.
Send time and delivery window
The time you schedule your campaign serves two purposes: it is both the campaign start time and the fallback send time for subscribers without enough engagement history to generate an optimized time.
Because subscribers receive emails at different predicted times, your campaign may take up to 24 hours to complete delivery.
Warning:
If your newsletter is tied to a promotion or deadline, schedule your campaign to start far enough in advance so all subscribers receive it before the offer expires.
FAQs
Does Send Time Optimization apply to all subscribers?
Yes. Send Time Optimization is applied per subscriber, not per segment or list. Subscribers without prior engagement history receive the email at your scheduled send time.
How long does delivery take when Send Time Optimization is enabled?
Delivery can take up to 24 hours to complete, because each subscriber receives the email at their individually predicted optimal time.
What happens if a subscriber has no engagement history?
Subscribers with no prior engagement history receive the newsletter at the scheduled campaign start time you set.
Will the optimization model stay the same over time?
No. The model changes over time as Seguno tests and adjusts it to improve prediction accuracy.
