Create an abandoned cart automation in Seguno

Send an Abandoned Cart Automation in Seguno.

Create an abandoned cart automation by combining Shopify automations with Seguno Email Marketing. Build the workflow in Shopify, replace Shopify’s default email action with a Seguno send action, and design the abandoned cart email using the Seguno editor.

This setup allows you to use Shopify’s automation logic while sending abandoned cart emails through Seguno.

Note:

If you want a faster starting point, you can download the abandoned browse automation template and import it into Shopify Flow. After importing the template, you only need to create the email and activate the workflow.

Download the Abandoned Cart Automation template

You can download a pre-built abandoned cart workflow template and import it directly into Shopify Flow.

To use the template:

  1. Download the abandoned cart automation template.

  2. Import the template into the Shopify Flow app.

  3. Select the template and click Edit.

  4. Open the final node labeled Do this… Send abandonment email.

  5. Click Select template.

  6. Choose the Abandoned cart email template.

  7. Design your email.

The blue !Review label indicates where you must create your own email before activating the workflow.

Note:

Creating a Seguno email within a Shopify automation also creates the automation in Seguno. The automation will only begin sending after it is turned on in Shopify.

View and edit the automation in Seguno

  1. In Seguno Email Marketing, navigate to the Automations page.

  2. In the Abandonment section, select the abandoned cart automation.

  3. From the Automation details page, review or update the email and settings.

Customize the Abandoned cart automation

Shopify automation templates include recommended conditions and actions to help ensure the automation works correctly. Only modify the workflow settings when needed.

Edit the wait period

The wait period determines how long the workflow waits after a cart is abandoned before sending the email.

To edit the wait period:

To edit the rest period:

  1. Open the workflow in Shopify and click Edit workflow.

  2. Select the Rest period node.

  3. Update the Days since last abandonment email setting.

  4. Click Edit description.

  5. Update the description text so it matches the new rest period.

Transactional sending

Transactional sending is not supported for the Abandoned Browse automation.

To approve the first email as transactional:

  1. Create and turn on the abandoned cart automation in Shopify.

  2. In Seguno Email Marketing, go to the Automations page.

  3. In the Abandonment section, select the abandoned cart automation.

  4. In the Start card, click Edit.

  5. Select Approve first email as transactional.

  6. Click Save.

Always review your local laws and compliance requirements before enabling transactional sending.
