Accessing your Shopify images in Canva

Your Shopify images may be found by the product or collection they're associated with or through your Shopify files. The Shopify Connect app allows you to access all Canva-supported file types.

Products

Search for your products by their title in Shopify to find all images associated with that product. If the product has multiple images, the total number will be noted on the product tile. Selecting the product tile will allow you to access all images for that product.

Collections

Collections are groups of products organized in Shopify. Search for your collections to find all products and images associated with that collection. This allows you to quickly build product collages without having to recall which items should be included based on that collection.

Files

These are all the files you've uploaded to your Shopify store under the Content section of the dashboard. All imported files (Images, Videos, Gifs, etc.) used to decorate your storefront and for your product imagery are stored here.

This is also where documents created in Canva are placed when transferred between Shopify and Canva.

Using your Shopify images in Canva designs

Click or drag and drop the product image from the list on the left side of your screen onto the Canva design. You may modify the image with any Canva tools or Canva Pro tools, such as background remover or magic eraser, and reorganize it on your canvas.

You can also drag the product title or the collection onto your Canva document. The title will automatically be formatted to match the font and formatting of the text box it is dragged to.

Exporting your designs directly to Shopify

Once you've completed your Canva document, you can now export it directly to your product, collection, or file pages in Shopify.

To set your export destination to a product or collection page, search and select the product or collection. While viewing that product, an option to "Export design to Product/Collection" will appear in the app window.

Exporting your design to a product will upload it to your product photos with your existing product photos.

Exporting to a collection will replace the collection's cover image in Shopify.

If the product or collection is available for your Online Store, your new design will be visible once the export is complete. You can manage the exported designs in Shopify.

Exporting to files will place it on the files page with the other files you've uploaded to your store. These Canva files can then be utilized for your storefront, product imagery, and email marketing designs by selecting them from Products or Files.
