Email use cases for Joy Loyalty data

Tier-exclusive promotions

  • Create one Shopify segment per VIP tier using Joy VIP Tier. Send each segment a different offer, and mention the subscriber’s tier in the subject line, preview text, or email body. Give higher tiers better discounts.

VIP tier upgrade announcements

  • Use the Joy Loyalty VIP tier achieved Shopify Flow trigger to tag customers who reach a new tier. Send the tagged segment an email that explains the new tier benefits.

Reward-ready reminders

  • Use the Joy Loyalty Customer has enough points for reward Shopify Flow trigger to tag customers who can redeem a reward. Show each subscriber’s Joy Point Balance in the email.

Points expiry reminders

  • Use the Joy Loyalty Upon point expiration Shopify Flow trigger to reach customers before their points expire. The Joy Point Balance field has no expiry date, so mention expiry only when your Joy Loyalty program has an expiry rule.

Lapsed member win-back

  • Combine the Shopify Amount spent and last order date filters with Joy Point Balance to find high-value members who have not purchased recently. Show their redeemable points, and send them a stronger offer than a generic win-back email.

Trigger emails from loyalty events with Shopify Flow

Joy Loyalty provides Shopify Flow triggers for loyalty events. Available triggers include:

  • Customer joined loyalty program

  • Customer has enough points for reward

  • VIP tier achieved

  • Upon point expiration

  • Milestone reward ready to claim

To use a trigger with Seguno Email Marketing, add a Shopify Flow action such as Add customer tags.

Then, create a Shopify segment based on that tag and send to it from Seguno Email Marketing. Test the workflow, recipient audience, and fallback values before you turn it on.

For more detail, see Joy Loyalty’s Shopify Flow documentation (https://help.joy.so/integrations/integrate-with-shopify-flow).

Warning:

Joy Loyalty membership does not give email marketing consent. Seguno Email Marketing emails only subscribers who opted in to email marketing, so the recipient count can be lower than the segment size.

Example: Tier-exclusive offer for a skincare store

Fresh Skincare uses Joy Loyalty with three VIP tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

The merchant creates one Shopify segment per tier using Joy VIP Tier, then sends a separate newsletter from Seguno Email Marketing to each segment.

  • Bronze members receive 10% off

  • Silver members 15% off

  • Gold members 20% off

Each subject line names the tier, for example, “Gold members: Your 20% offer is here."
