Manage the unsubscribe link in Seguno emails

Learn how to remove the unsubscribe link in your email header and customize the unsubscribe border in your footer in Seguno Email Marketing.

Updated over a month ago

All marketing emails must include an unsubscribe option. Seguno automatically adds an unsubscribe link to every email to comply with email regulations such as the CAN-SPAM Act.

You can remove the unsubscribe link from the email header after authenticating your sending domain. The unsubscribe link in the email footer is required and cannot be removed.

Remove the unsubscribe link in the email header

Seguno automatically adds an unsubscribe link in the email header. After you authenticate your sending domain, you can hide this link in emails that use your shared design theme.

To remove the unsubscribe link in the header:

  1. Open the editor for a newsletter, automation, or template that uses your shared design theme.

  2. Click Theme settings.

  3. Select Header.

  4. Uncheck Show the unsubscribe link.

    show unsubscribe link checkbox
  5. Click Save.

This change applies to all emails that use the same shared design theme.

Tip:

Gmail Postmaster guidelines recommend including a header unsubscribe link. Some senders report improved Gmail inbox placement when the header unsubscribe link remains enabled.

Edit the unsubscribe border in the footer

The unsubscribe link in the email footer is required and cannot be removed. However, you can remove the border that appears around the unsubscribe link after you authenticate your sending domain.

To remove the unsubscribe border:

  1. Open the editor for a newsletter, automation, or template that uses your shared design theme.

  2. Click Theme settings.

  3. Select Footer.

  4. Clear Show unsubscribe border.

    show unsubscribe link checkbox
  5. Click Save.

This change updates the footer styling for all emails that use the same shared design theme.

FAQs

Why can’t I remove the unsubscribe link completely?

  • Email marketing laws such as the CAN-SPAM Act require every commercial email to include a working unsubscribe option.

Why is the unsubscribe option greyed out?

Does removing the header unsubscribe link affect deliverability?
