Customize the email header in Seguno Email Marketing by editing preheader text, adding a logo, and creating a navigation menu.

Updated over a month ago

The header in Seguno Email Marketing controls the branding shown at the top of every email. Merchants can customize the preheader text, logo, and optional menu bar to match their brand. This guide explains how to edit the email header using the shared email theme.

Update the email header

Follow these steps to open the header settings in the email editor.

Steps

  1. Open Seguno: Email Marketing from the Shopify admin.

  2. Open any Newsletter or Automation email in the editor.

  3. Click Theme settings.

  4. Click Header.

Note:

  • The header and footer are part of the email’s shared theme.

  • Changes to the header apply to all emails that use the same theme.

Edit preheader text

The preheader text appears at the very top of the email and often shows in the inbox preview beside the subject line. Merchants commonly use this area for short promotional statements or brand messaging.

Examples

  • “Always free shipping”

  • “They rule. Their clothes can too.”

Tip:

If the subject line and preview text do not fill the available inbox preview space, email clients may automatically pull content from the email body. Adding preheader text helps prevent unsubscribe language or logo alt text from appearing in the preview.

Add or update a logo

Adding a logo to the header helps subscribers immediately recognize your brand.

Steps

  1. Open Header settings in the email editor.

  2. Click Change in the logo section.

  3. Click Add image.

  4. Select the logo file to upload.

Tip:

Choose a logo that is clearly readable on both desktop and mobile devices.

Add a menu bar

The menu bar is an optional navigation row displayed in the email header. Merchants often use it to link to popular collections or product categories.

Examples

  • Men’s

  • Women’s

  • Children’s

  • Rugs

  • Chairs

  • Dishes

Adding a menu bar can improve click-through rates by allowing subscribers to navigate directly to products or collections from the email header.

FAQs

Does changing the header affect all emails?

  • Yes. The header is part of the email’s shared theme. Updating the header applies the changes to all emails that use that theme.

Can I remove the menu bar from the header?

  • Yes. The menu bar is optional and can be removed from the header settings in the email editor.

What size logo works best in the header?

  • Use a logo that remains readable on both desktop and mobile devices. Avoid small or highly detailed logo variations.

What happens if I do not add preheader text?

  • Some email clients may display other email content in the preview, such as unsubscribe language or logo alt text. Adding preheader text prevents this.
