Seguno Email Marketing is built exclusively for Shopify. Seguno integrates directly with Shopify data, so customer, order, product, and discount information stays synced inside the Shopify admin.
This article explains what Shopify data Seguno uses and how it powers newsletters and automations.
Customers and subscribers
Seguno uses Shopify customer records to manage subscribers. A subscriber is a Shopify customer with an Email subscription status set to Subscribed.
Seguno does not maintain a separate contact database. All subscriber data syncs directly from Shopify.
To verify subscription status in Shopify:
Click Customers in Shopify.
Select a customer record.
Review the Email subscription status field.
Only customers marked as Subscribed are eligible to receive marketing email.
Note:
Seguno automatically filters for Email subscription status when sending a campaign or automation email. This filter is applied even if a Shopify segment includes unsubscribed customers.
This automatic filtering is the most common reason the final recipient count is lower than the total number shown in a Shopify segment.
Shopify segments
Seguno uses Shopify Segments to target or exclude specific groups of subscribers when sending an email.
Examples of segment usage:
Customers tagged VIP

Orders and automation triggers
Seguno uses Shopify order data to trigger automations (triggered workflows). Order data also personalizes email content.
Seguno accesses the following order fields:
Line items
Order date
Fulfillment status
Fulfillment date
These fields power the following commerce automations:
Abandoned Checkout
First Purchase
Repeat Purchaser (second purchase)
Review Request (eligible completed order)
Lapsed Purchaser (no recent purchases after at least one prior order)
Note:
Order line item data is only accessible at the time the automation is triggered. Newsletters (one-time campaigns) cannot include previous order line item data.
Products in emails
Seguno uses Shopify product data to populate product sections in newsletters and automations.
By default, Seguno filters products by in-stock availability. If a product contains variants, Seguno uses the first in-stock variant.
