Authenticating your domain builds trust with customers and improves your email deliverability by establishing your domain's reputation as a sender.
Once you've authenticated your domain, your next newsletter will be guided through our domain warming process, which introduces your domain to inbox providers and establishes credibility for your new domain.
Google, GoDaddy, and IONOS-hosted domains
Seguno offers Domain Connect for supported domain providers, which adds your DNS records automatically into Seguno.
To authenticate your domain using Domain Connect:
Navigate to the Settings page in the Seguno Email app.
In the Sending section, click Authenticate your domain.
Click Connect automatically.
Sign into your domain provider and connect to Seguno.
Click Close.
Seguno will notify you via email when the domain authentication process is completed.
Shopify-hosted domains
To authenticate your Shopify-hosted domain:
Find your DNS records in Seguno.
Navigate to the Settings page in the Seguno Email app.
In the Sending section, click Authenticate your domain.
Click Connect manually.
Open a new tab.
From your Shopify Admin, go to Settings.
Select Domains.
From the Domain list, select the domain.
Click the Domain settings dropdown, select Edit DNS settings.
Click Add custom record.
For the TXT and CNAME records, copy the Seguno DNS records and paste the text into Shopify.
Once you've created and saved those two records, click Authenticate domain in Seguno.
You will see a Compliance checks pending message when successfully submitted.
Seguno will then begin the backend of the domain authentication process, generally lasting one hour. You will receive an email notification once this has been completed.
Note: You may receive an "Authentication failed" message while the records are updating between Shopify and Seguno - please wait 1-5 minutes and retry the last step.
Other providers
To authenticate your domain with other providers:
Find your DNS records in Seguno.
Navigate to the Settings page in the Seguno Email app.
In the Sending section, click Authenticate your domain.
Click Connect manually.
Login to your domain host account.
Navigate to your DNS settings or Control panel.
Copy two DNS records from Seguno to your domain account: TXT record and CNAME record.
Once you've created and saved those two records, click Authenticate domain in Seguno.
You will see a Compliance checks pending message when successfully submitted.
Seguno will then begin the backend of the domain authentication process, generally lasting one hour. You will receive an email notification once this has been completed.
