How does Seguno integrate with Shopify?
How does Seguno integrate with Shopify?
Updated over 10 months ago

Seguno is built exclusively for Shopify and keeps you inside your Shopify admin. Seguno leverages your Shopify store data to keep data accurate and all in one place. This article will help you understand what data Seguno is using in your account.

Customers

Seguno uses your existing customers in Shopify to manage your subscribers. The "Subscribed" attribute on the Customer record indicates who is eligible to receive email marketing.

To see if someone is a subscriber, go to the Customers tab and find their record.

Segments

Seguno also uses your Shopify Segments to target or exclude specific groups of subscribers in email.

Note: Seguno will automatically filter for "Email subscription status" when sending emails. This is the most common reason that the actual number of customers targeted is lower than the total number of customers in a Saved Search.

Orders

Seguno uses your Orders to identify trigger events and send automated marketing messages. Line items, order date, fulfillment status, and fulfillment date are used in the content and settings for the following commerce automations:

  • When a subscriber has an Abandoned Checkout

  • When a subscriber has made their First Purchase

  • When a subscriber has made a second purchase and becomes a Repeat Purchaser

  • When a subscriber has made an order that is eligible for a Review Request.

  • When a subscriber with at least one previous order becomes a Lapsed Purchaser

Order line item data is only accessible during a triggering event. Newsletters do not support including previous order data.

Products

Product data is used to enhance Newsletters and Automations by pulling in the images and attributes. By default, Seguno filters products for in-stock status to be available for email. If your products have variants, Seguno will use the first in-stock variant for that product.

In your emails, we use Product information in the Featured Products, Product List, Featured Collection, and Collection List sections. Attributes available to include in emails are:

  • Title (required)

  • Image

  • Vendor

  • Price

  • Compare at price

  • Add to cart link

  • View product link (required)

  • Description

Discounts

Seguno uses your Shopify Discounts to send discount codes in emails. All discount details for type, value, requirement, eligibility, and expiration date are set when creating the Discount in Shopify. Details will automatically be included in your messages, and codes will be applied when a contact clicks any link in the received message.

Marketing

Your Shopify Marketing dashboard can be used to create new campaigns and review reports for your Seguno Newsletters and Automations. Reporting can be accessed for the specific Newsletters and Automations in Seguno or can be reviewed as part of your overall Activities in the marketing overview.

You can also leverage Seguno's editor within Shopify marketing automations for more complex automation workflows.
