Import your Klaviyo subscribers to Seguno.

The Klaviyo integration in Seguno allows you to sync your contact list without disrupting your existing flows in Klaviyo, all while maintaining compliance with anti-spam laws.


Step-by-step migration guide

This connection will import all contacts from the selected lists in Klaviyo into Shopify as customers. If a subscriber's profile exists in both Klaviyo and Shopify, the Shopify profile will be updated to match the information in the Klaviyo profile. This connection will transfer the contact's email, first name, last name, and subscription status into a customer record in Shopify.

To migrate from Klaviyo to Seguno:

The connection requires an API key from Klaviyo to transfer contacts to Seguno

Find your Site ID and create a Private API key

  1. Open your Klaviyo account and navigate to your API Keys

  2. Copy the Public API Key/site ID and save it to reference in Seguno later.

  3. In the Private API Keys section, click Create Private API Key

  4. Name the Private API Key

  5. Select Full Access Key

    1. If you prefer to limit access, Seguno requires Read Access to the following API scopes: Accounts, Lists, Profiles, and Subscriptions.

  6. Click Create

  7. In the Your Private Key section, click the copy icon to copy your Private API Key.
    **Do not proceed without copying the Private API Key - it cannot be accessed again.**

  8. Keep your Site ID and Private API Key for the connection in Seguno

Connect Klaviyo to Seguno

  1. From your Seguno Dashboard, in the Connections card, click View all

  2. Select Klaviyo

  3. Click Connect

  4. Add the Site ID and Private API key from your Klaviyo account settings.

  5. Click Connect

  6. Select the audience list(s) to sync with Shopify

  7. Click Sync

Note: The time it takes to sync your lists with Shopify varies depending on the size of your Klaviyo audience list(s). For large lists, expect the sync to multiple hours.

Recreate your Klaviyo flows as Seguno automations

  1. Create your automations in Seguno by replicating your current Klaviyo flows.

    1. Seguno Email offers many kinds of automations for your email marketing needs

    2. We recommend starting out with the Welcome automation

  2. Deactivate your Klaviyo flows.

  3. Activate the Seguno automations.

Recreate your Klaviyo popups and forms in Seguno

  1. Install our Popups & Forms app. Replicate any popups or forms you have been using with Klaviyo. Then, switch off your Klaviyo popups and activate your new Seguno popups.

Closing your Klaviyo account

After you've spent some time with Seguno, you can close your Klaviyo account:

  1. Disconnect our Klaviyo connection.

  2. Disconnect the Klaviyo app.

  3. Export your data from Klaviyo to retain a backup copy.

  4. Uninstall the Klaviyo app.

We also leverage your order data in Shopify and email engagement data from Klaviyo to automatically sort them so your most engaged subscribers receive it first. You'll see a banner at the top of a newsletter detail page describing that with an estimate of how long it will take. So, just design a nice, enticing newsletter to send to all your subscribers, and we'll do the rest.


FAQs

  • What happens to contacts that exist in Shopify but not in Klaviyo?

    • Contacts that exist only in Shopify will not be modified, but you should check them to ensure these contacts have not been abandoned for too long and are therefore likely to mark your emails as spam.

  • Can I copy over my email templates?

    • No, you'll need to recreate your emails using the Seguno editor. To help you get started quickly, we have prebuilt emails for each standard automation, a number of starter templates, and various designed templates for special events.
