Seguno offers streamlined automations for all the best practices, but there may be times when you need full control over the conditions and actions. For those more complex automations, add Seguno’s ‘Send a marketing email’ action within Shopify’s workflow builder. This new feature allows you to take full advantage of both, Seguno’s Editor and the customizable logic of Shopify marketing automations to drive more sales.
Add Seguno's 'Send a marketing email' action
Creating a Seguno email inside a Shopify marketing automation is used for complex automations when you need full control over the workflow.
To add Seguno's 'Send a marketing email' action to a Shopify marketing automation:
From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Marketing, then Automations
Click Create automation
Select a supported Shopify marketing automation trigger, or click Create custom automation
To add a Seguno email, click the plus sign, then Action
In Installed Apps Actions, click Seguno: Email Marketing
Click Send marketing email
Click Select template
Select a template and edit the email content
Click Save
Click Exit

To edit a Seguno email in a Shopify marketing automation:
From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Marketing, then Automations.
In the Automations section, select the Automation.
In the Marketing activities in this workflow section click on the title to be brought to Seguno's Editor.
View and edit emails in Seguno
Once you’ve created a Seguno email within a Shopify marketing automation, you can view and edit the automation in Seguno.
Note: Creating a Seguno email within a Shopify marketing automation will automatically activate the automation in Seguno, but the automation will only send once it is turned on in Shopify. To begin triggering the automation, turn on the automation in Shopify.
To view and edit the email in Seguno:
Navigate to the Automations page.
From the Shopify automation action section, select the email.
From the Automation details page you can make additional edits to the automation, including creating an automation series.
Tip: For all Seguno emails created inside a Shopify marketing automation, you can view and edit the automation in Seguno. This includes leveraging an exclusion list or adjusting a discount. Seguno automation series will trigger once the Seguno email is triggered within the Shopify marketing automation.
To view and edit the email in Shopify:
From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Marketing, then Automations.
In the Automations section, click the automation that you want to edit.
In the Marketing activities in this workflow section, click on the title to be brought to the Editor.
View reporting for Seguno marketing emails
To view the report in Shopify:
From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Marketing, then Automations.
In the Automations section, click the automation that you want to edit.
Click View report.
By default, the reporting is set to the last 30 days, to adjust the date range, click the date range button.
Note: If you built out an automation series in Seguno, the Shopify report will show the aggregated reporting for the Seguno automation.
To view the report in Seguno:
Navigate to the Automations page.
In the Shopify automation section, click the automation that you want to edit.
On the Automation details page, view the performance, engagement, and deliverability metrics for the automation.
For a more detailed report on a single email within the automation, click the Actions dropdown, select View report.
