Seguno Email Marketing allows merchants to exclude specific subscribers from entering an automation. Merchants commonly use this setting to prevent certain customer groups, such as wholesale customers, from receiving consumer-focused automated emails.
This guide explains how to exclude a segment of subscribers from an automation.
Exclude customers from an automation
Follow these steps to exclude a segment from receiving an automation.
Open Seguno: Email Marketing from the Shopify admin.
Navigate to Automations.
Click the automation you want to edit.
In the Exclusions card, click Edit.
In the Edit exclusions modal, search for the segment name.
Select the segment you want to exclude.
Click Save.
Notes
An exclusion prevents subscribers in the selected segment from entering the automation.
Segments are groups of subscribers filtered by defined criteria such as tags, purchase behavior, or location.
If a subscriber belongs to both the included audience and the excluded segment, the exclusion takes priority.
FAQs
Can I exclude multiple segments from an automation?
Yes. You can add multiple segments to the exclusions list. Subscribers in any excluded segment will not enter the automation.
Do exclusions remove subscribers already in an automation?
No. Exclusions prevent new subscribers from entering the automation. Subscribers already in the workflow may continue unless removed manually.
Can I exclude customers using tags?
Yes. Create a segment that filters subscribers by customer tag, then add that segment to the automation exclusions list.
What happens if a subscriber matches both the trigger and the exclusion?
The exclusion takes priority. The subscriber will not enter the automation.
