FAQs

Can I create opt-out lists for multiple holidays?

  • Yes. Repeat this process for each event. Use a distinct tag for each one, such as opt-out-fathers-day or opt-out-valentines-day, and create a separate customer segment for each.

Do subscribers who opt out get removed from my list?

  • No. The opt-out tag marks them for exclusion from specific newsletters only. They remain active subscribers and will continue to receive other emails.

Can I reuse the same opt-out form for multiple events?

  • You can, but you will need to update the tag on the form before each campaign so that submissions are applied to the correct segment.

Will Shopify apply the tag automatically when someone submits the form?

  • Yes. When a subscriber submits the opt-out form, Shopify applies the customer tag you configured directly to their customer profile.

What if a subscriber opts out but then wants to receive those emails again?

  • You would need to manually remove the opt-out tag from their customer profile in your Shopify admin, or provide a way for them to resubscribe to those sends.
