The Postscript connection links Postscript popup submissions with Seguno: Email Marketing. When a customer enters an email address in a Postscript popup, Seguno automatically creates or updates the customer in Shopify and subscribes them to marketing emails.
This connection allows popup email subscribers to immediately trigger email automations and receive future campaigns sent from Seguno.
Set up the PostScript Connection
Follow these steps to connect Seguno Email Marketing to Postscript popups.
Navigate to the Dashboard in Seguno Email Marketing.
Locate the Connections card.
Under Postscript SMS Marketing, click Connect.
In the Private API Key field, paste the Private API Key from Postscript.
To locate your API key in Postscript:
Click the API settings link.
Copy the Private API Key from Postscript.
Return to Seguno and click Connect.
Tip:
Use this connection together with the Postscript integration in Seguno Popups & Forms to allow customers to subscribe to SMS, email, or both in the same signup flow.
Subscriber details and tags
When an email address is submitted through a Postscript popup, Seguno performs the following actions in Shopify.
Customer creation
If the email does not exist in Shopify:
A new customer is created in Shopify.
The customer is subscribed to marketing emails.
The customer becomes an email subscriber in Seguno.
Customer update
If the email already exists in Shopify:
The existing customer record is updated.
The customer is marked as subscribed to marketing emails.
Subscriber tags
When an email is captured through a Postscript popup:
Shopify applies the tag postscript-connection to the customer record.
This tag helps identify customers who subscribed through a Postscript popup.
