Remove the unsubscribe link in your email header and edit the unsubscribe link in your email footer.

According to the CAN-SPAM Act, it is a federal requirement that all recipients of emails with commercial messages have the right to elect to receive emails from you, as well as the right to demand that you stop emailing them. The unsubscribe button is the simple solution to this law that you will find is mandatory for ALL email marketing platforms.

Seguno adds an unsubscribe link in both the header and footer of all emails. It is optional to remove the unsubscribe link in the header. The unsubscribe link in the footer is required.


Remove the unsubscribe link in the email header

The unsubscribe link in your email header can be removed for all senders who have authenticated their domain.

Tip: Gmail's Postmaster recommendations include offering an unsubscribe link in the email header, and many senders report that following this recommendation has helped with email placement issues for their Gmail recipients.

Once you have authenticated your domain, you can remove the unsubscribe link in the header.

To remove the unsubscribe link in the header:

  1. Open the Editor for any newsletter, automation, or template that uses your shared design theme.

  2. Click Theme settings.

  3. Select Header.

  4. Uncheck Show the unsubscribe link.

  5. Save your email to update this setting for all emails using your shared theme.

Edit the unsubscribe border in the footer

The border around the unsubscribe link in your email footer can be removed for all senders who have authenticated their domain.

Once you have authenticated your domain, you can remove the unsubscribe border.

To remove the unsubscribe border in the footer:

  1. Open the Editor for any newsletter, automation, or template that uses your shared design theme

  2. Click Theme settings

  3. Select Footer

  4. Uncheck Show unsubscribe border.
