Send a test email or request feedback from within the Editor.

It is best practice to send a test email prior to sending the email to your subscribers. Sending a test email allows you or your team to make any last-minute changes prior to sending it to your subscribers.

Seguno provides two email review actions: sending a test email and requesting feedback on an email. Sending a test email sends the email to the recipient's inbox as a subscriber would receive the email, with the prefix Test: on the subject line. Requesting feedback allows you to add comments and a reply address.


Set up test recipients

Seguno allows you to send a test email to up to three email addresses. It is recommended to send the test email to multiple colleagues and to different email clients (i.e. Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo). We also recommend opening the email on both desktop and mobile devices to ensure all the content shows correctly. If you are the sole person receiving the test email, we recommend creating personal emails in different email clients to ensure the email is delivered correctly across platforms.

To set up test recipients:

  1. Navigate to Settings.

  2. In the Sending section, type the email address in the Test email recipients text field

  3. Click Add.


Send a test email

There are two ways to send a test email - while editing the newsletter, or while reviewing the newsletter summary.

To send a test email while editing the email:

  1. Navigate to the Editor.

  2. Click the Actions dropdown.

  3. Select Send test email.

  4. A banner will show at the bottom of your screen, confirming that the test email was sent.

To send a test email from the newsletter summary:

  1. Select your newsletter from the list so you see the preview image and sending details.

  2. Click the Actions dropdown.

  3. Select Send test email.

Request feedback on an email

The Request feedback action is used in cases when you want to include notes or questions with your test email. Sending feedback requests gives you additional flexibility to input a specific recipient, include a note about the test email, and set a reply-to email address. The Request feedback action is commonly used when requesting approval, asking for specific feedback, or for teams that are working collaboratively on an email.

To request feedback on an email:

  1. Navigate to the Editor.

  2. Click the Actions dropdown.

  3. Select Request feedback.

  4. Fill in all text fields in the Request feedback modal.

  5. Click Request feedback.

  6. A banner will show at the bottom of your screen, confirming that the feedback request was sent.

  7. Upon opening the email, the recipients will see your notes highlighted in a yellow banner.
