Seguno leverages Shopify's free Flow app to send multi-language automations. Use Seguno's pre-built template to send a welcome automation based on locale preferences.

Set up a Multi-language Welcome automation
Warning: Before adding this automation to your store, ensure you've set your Shopify Store to support multiple languages.
Get started with Seguno's pre-built Flow template
Open the Flow app in your Shopify Admin
In the upper right corner, click Import
Select the Multi-language Welcome template from your downloads folder and click Import
Customize the template for your Online Store
From the Workflows list, select the Seguno Suite - Welcome Automation (Multi-Language)
In the upper right corner, click Edit
Select the "Check if..." node and adjust the locale to your desired language
In the Locale text field, enter the country code
Select the "Do this..." nodes to create and customize the "Welcome" email for the respective languages by clicking Select template
To set the correct language in the email, click the Actions menu in the bottom left corner of the email editor and select Change language
Turn the automation on by clicking the Turn on workflow button in the upper right corner of the page
Warning: Do not remove the "Wait for..." node. This gives Shopify the proper amount of time to sync the customer data.
Add additional languages to the template
The Multi-Language template is originally designed to send emails in your store's default language and one additional language. However, you can add as many languages as your store supports.
To add additional languages to the multi-language welcome automation template:
Hover over the blue arrow connecting the "Check If..." node to the second "Do this..." node and click Delete to disconnect that node.
On the "Check if..." node, click the blue plus next to Otherwise and select Condition.
In the new "Check if..." node, click Add a variable, select the Customer category, and scroll until you see the locale.
Select locale.
In the Locale text file, enter the country code.
Click the blue plus next to Then and select the Action option.
Click the Seguno Email option, then select "Send marketing email" and repeat the customization process above the email for the chosen language.
Repeat this process for as many languages as your store uses.
The final Otherwise connection has to be the Welcome email in your store's default language.
